Mechanic – Diesel/Heavy Equipment

Position Summary:

Troubleshoot and repair general heavy equipment drive-train components, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as perform normal machine repair in a safe manner.  Candidate must be willing to listen and learn. Candidates must reside in Northern, Central or Eastern Ohio.


Mechanic / Technician Requirements:


  • Heavy equipment service/repair knowledge required.
  • Prior experience with rebuilding various components, such as final drives, gearboxes, differentials, planetary gears, undercarriage, and torque converters will be required.
  • Possess superior diagnosis and mechanical skills and abilities.
  • Desire and ability to present strong customer service skills
  • Ability to complete service and all necessary documentation, as well as follow up as required in a timely manner.
  • Follow all Mid-Ohio Pipeline policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Must use all safety equipment necessary for the job.
  • Must own and be able to safely use personal mechanic’s tools.
  • Ability to effectively use computers


 Essential Job functions:

  • Must be physically capable of performing work requirements asked of them, including the ability to lift, push or pull 50+ pounds, climb heavy equipment, bend, and kneel for prolonged periods of times.
  • Must follow all safety policies and safety procedures per company standards.
  • Skilled worker who possess the required knowledge, skill, and physical ability to skillfully preform scheduled maintenance on company fleet and heavy equipment.
  • Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the job and operate within a short time frame as needed
  • Must work well with others
  • Inspects heavy equipment: includes structures and materials; identifies causes of errors and other problems or defects
  • Monitors information: includes materials, events, or environment; detects or assesses problems associated with heavy equipment
  • Identifies information: includes categorizing, estimating, and recognizing differences or similarities in heavy equipment; detects changes in circumstances or events

Job Requirements

Mechanic – Diesel/Heavy Equipment 

Position Qualifications:

  • At least 2 -4 years prior diesel/heavy equipment mechanic experience.
  • Working knowledge of general hand tools and power tools preferred.
  • Ability to work in all types of weather.


  •            Must complete and pass a pre‐employment drug & alcohol screen and criminal background check.

    •         Personal transportation available to and from job site.

    •         Current/Valid Driver’s License preferred.

    •         Ability to travel required.

    •         Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.

    •         Must be able to work long hours and weekends if needed.

    •         Must pass practical exam.
